GRACE HYE's Artwear series presents the theme "FLORAL POEM AND ME"
This series beautifully incorporates the harmonious blend of the sky, wind, stars, and poetry to express patriotic sentiment, inspired by the poem "서시" (Seoshi) by the renowned Korean poet Yoon Dongju, as well as the elegant silhouette of Korea's national flower, the everlasting chrysanthemum (무궁화). Building upon these inspirations, the collection introduces captivating textile patterns.
In this collection, the use of black color symbolizes the profound spirit of the Korean people, while the draping on the back of the garments adds a modern touch through its natural flow. Drawing from the traditional Korean court attire, the design takes cues from the regal attire of queens known as "적의" (Jeokui) and the elegant sleeves of women's ceremonial clothing called "원삼" (Wonsam) from the Joseon era. Additionally, the collar of the cape and the overall silhouette are reimagined from the long trench coat, resulting in a sophisticated blend of traditional and contemporary elements.
The tops and skirts of the outfits are meticulously adorned with floral embroidery and Swarovski crystals, reflecting a meticulous craftsmanship that exudes both strength and high-quality artistry. All of this is achieved within the restrained elegance of the black color palette, balancing femininity and opulence.
